The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian Government initiative to help you with the support you need to live the life you want. It works with you to identify the goals you want to achieve in many aspects of your life – including independence, involvement in commun

You may be eligible for the NDIS if you have a permanent and significant disability that affects your ability to take part in daily activities and social or work-related pursuits. This can include impairments arising from birth, acquired through an injury or illness, or due to ageing. If you have a psychosocial disability, the NDIS can also provide you with support to improve your mental health and wellbeing.

There are some key steps you need to take to get started with the NDIS, including checking your eligibility and registering for a NDIS account. The ndis broadmeadows will also contact you when your registration is ready.

Once you have a registered NDIS account, you can apply for the support you need to meet your goals. You can apply for a short term package if you are a new NDIS participant or request an individual plan if you are an existing participant. The NDIS will also review your plan regularly to ensure you are getting the support you need to reach your goals.

The NDIS is committed to improving the NDIS participants’ experience by introducing an NDIS Participant Service Guarantee, which will set new standards for how long it takes for key NDIS steps, like receiving a decision about whether you will be covered by the NDIS, preparing your NDIS plan and having it reviewed. This will include clear, agreed timeframes for these processes and will support the NDIA to build a more responsive and customer-focused agency.

The Australian Government is committed to working with people with disability and their families and carers to improve the NDIS. To this end, we are implementing a number of improvements, which include expanding the range of support options available to people who have a psychosocial disability and building an accessible, sustainable, flexible and equitable NDIS.

In addition, the NDIS is continuing to invest in a stronger and more capable workforce by increasing funding for training and recruitment of new staff to support the increase in demand for supports across Australia.
