Introduction of professional terms in PCB industry

There is an old saying in China called "Learning is endless", FS Technology has organized the following professional terms of PCB Assembly for you, hoping to help you.

1.Thermocouple

This is a device that uses the "thermoelectric" principle to measure temperature. We combine two different metal conductors with two contacts. When the temperature rises, the difference in the voltage across the metal will be caused, and this difference will be proportional to the temperature rise. The actual temperature of the environment can be expressed. In actual operation, we can twist the two kinds of metal wires with the help of small rods, so that they are tightly wound into one, and then cut off the excess ends, and after sealing, it becomes a practical thermocouple.

2.UL Underweiters' Laboratories

pcba

American Insurance Industry Laboratory (UL is in the PCB industry for the implementation and certification of the flame resistance of the board, all electronic and electrical products sold in the United States must be UL recognized. Currently also involved in ISO-9000 certification), FS Tech has ISO- 9000 certificate.

3.LED Light-Emitting Diode

A light-emitting diode is a diode made of arsenide semiconductor. When we apply a continuous or pulsed voltage, it can emit light to produce a display function, which consumes more power than an LCD.

4.IPC Institute for Interconnectiong and Packaging Electronic Circuits

The American Electronic Circuit Interconnection and Packaging Association IPC is a non-governmental organization established by the American circuit board industry in 1975. The original full name is Institute of Printed Circuits "Printed Circuit Board Association". Since 1977, it has been changed to its current name. FS Technology often learns circuit interconnection and packaging technology from IPC.

5.X-Ray Fluorescence

When "X-ray" hits various substances, it will trigger different levels of fluorescence with different properties, which is called "X-ray fluorescence" (XFR, X-Ray Flourescence). In terms of coating quality inspection, since X-rays will excite different "X-rays" on the coating and the underlying metal, the difference in fluorescence intensity can be used to measure the thickness of the coating. The thickness measurement of this method is very effective for the coating with a small area of the foot of the part. And the "X fluorescence" of various substances has a specific position on the spectrum, so it can also perform qualitative and quantitative analysis at the same time. If you want to learn more about X-Ray, you can watch the FS Technology PCBA blog content.

6.JEDEC Joint Electronic Components Engineering Committee

Abbreviation for Joint Electronic Device Engineering Council, one of the jurisdictions of the Electronic Industries Association (EIA) in the United States. The organization is one of the three most authoritative specification societies in the packaging and assembly of SMD surface mount components. The other two societies are the "IEC International Electrotechnical Commission" and the IPC.

7.Key Board

The former refers to the key system for computer (Computer) command input, and the latter refers to this "key PCB Assembly" used for the circuit board in the "product". Usually only single or double panels are used. Handheld small calculators also require keyboard pads, even simple thin circuit boards printed with silver paste as keyboard pads.
