Gynecomastia also referred to as male boobs is an enlarged breast-associated condition that is known to affect a large percentage of the male population (especially adolescent boys and older men) because of a hormonal imbalance i.e. rise in estrogen levels which stimulates swelling up of breast tissues. This condition is characterized by the presence of excess glandular tissue, excess fat, and skin that mimics the appearance of female breasts.
