This popularity appears to be due, in part, to the price and reliability of their products relative to the price and reliability of similar offerings by the Big Three.

In this article, I list those sedans, wagons, hatchbacks, and sport-utility vehicles by Hyundai and Kia whose 2010 Car Reliability Grade Point Average for the most recent age range, 0 to 4 years old, exceed General Motors Corporation's mean 2010 Reliability GPA for the same recent model years. GM's mean GPA, 1.25, is chosen as it falls between Ford's 2.21 and Chrysler's 0.99. The Reliability Grade Point Average uses the standard scale of 0 to 4.

The automobiles that exceed GM's mean are listed by manufacturer. For a vehicle to be listed, it must offer, at least, a 2-year data history.
