Truth or Dare
You played your first game of Truth or Dare as a kid. It's even more fun to play as an adult at a party. This is a great way to break the ice, get people to meet and mingle and open up about themselves. Truth or Dare is simple, doesn't require dice, cards, classic game or boards, and everyone can participate. You just might find out a few things about your friends that you didn't know!
Twister
This class game gets party guests up out of their seats and on all fours...literally. You lay out the special mat with colored circles and then spin to see where you place your hand and foot. Guest quickly become a jumbled, twisted mess in an attempt to see who can balance the best way. This is another great ice breaker and can lead to tear-inducing hilarity.
Charades
A classic guessing game, Charades has been a party favorite for decades. When your guests arrive, have them write down phrases, book or movie titles, foods, sports, etc. and put all the cards in a bowl. Divide your attendees into teams and pit them against each other in a "best of" game of guessing. Teams act out the clue and try to guess to win points. You're sure to have many laughs and photo ops and maybe even a quick video to upload and share.
UNO
Card games are great for any kind of party, but UNO really rocks. Unlike rummy or gin or go fish, UNO keeps players on their toes, paying attention to the colors, numbers, and direction of the game. Each player receives cards that are numbered and colored. Play takes place when you either place a numbered card on the same numbered card or the same colors on each other. There are wild cards that allow you to change direction, skip players, or change the color. It's a classic game that will keep your guests entertained and battling it out.
Yahtzee
This classic dice game was invented on a boat when no one had cards and they wanted to play poker. Yahtzee is exciting and fast-paced, and many guests can play at one time. With five dice, you try to emulate poker hands like three of a kind, four of a kind, small straight, large straight, full house, by rolling the dice. You also have the chance to fill the top portion of the score card by rolling multiples of 1-6 to score the bonus. And, of course, when all five dice show the same number, then...Yahtzee! You'll score big. A favorite game for all...and sure to have your guests' competitive nature come out.
