The journey to Maa Vaishno Devi Temple is considered one of the most sacred pilgrimages in the country and this is because the temple of Maa Vaishno is situated in a cave in the Trikuta hills of Jammu and Kashmir which is 12 kms to reach. There is a different belief in the minds of the devotees who believe in Hinduism around the world about the Maa Vaishno Devi temple. The journey to Maa Vaishno Devi Temple is considered to be one of the most sacred and difficult pilgrimages in the country and the reason for this is that Maa Vaishno court is located in a cave on the Trikuta mountain in Jammu and Kashmir, which is 13 kms to reach and difficult to climb. Vaishno Devi shrine is situated at an altitude of 5,300 feet above sea level and from Base Camp Katra one has to climb about 13 kms to reach Maa Ka Darbar also known as Bhavan. It is not necessary to climb on foot to reach the temple of Maa Vaishno Devi. If you want, you can also ride a horse, mule, pithu or palanquin, which are easily available to go from Katra to the building. Apart from this, there is also a regular helicopter service between Katra and Sanjhi Chhat. From Sanjichhat, you have to walk only 2.5 kms to Bhawan. People go to see Bhairo Baba after having darshan in the Maa Vaishno Devi temple. It is believed that after the darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi, the journey is completed only by the darshan of Bhairo Baba.

Vaishno Devi Package Itinerary

Day 01 : Arrival - Jammu - Katra

Pick up from Jammu Airport / Railway Station and transfer to Katra (50 Kms, 1.5 hours). Spend the rest of the day at leisure and an overnight stay at Katra.

Day 02 : Katra - Maa Vaishno Devi Darshans

After breakfast, proceed to Maa Vaishno Devi Bhawan, one of the most popular pilgrimages in India, situated in the lap of the Trikuta mountains across Katra town at an altitude of around 5,200 feet. Yatra entails a nearly 12-kilometer trek from Katra's base camp, known as Ban Ganga. An alternate way to perform darshans is by ponies, palkis or helicopter. If time permits, visit Bhairo Temple return back to Katra in the evening and an overnight stay at Katra.

Day 03 : Katra - Jammu Drop

After breakfast, check out at hotel and proceed to Jammu to be dropped at the airport / railway station for your onward journey with sweet memories of the tour.
